Yes, it is I, the Jersey Girl, even though it has been 30 years or more since I resided there. It must have been the magnetic pull of the North Pole (or perhaps other northern heartstrings) that has kept me here in Canada, although my heart is still drawn towards NJ. Are there any other Jersey vagabonds out there? What is it about that place that has gotten into our blood and refuses to let go? It can’t all be Tony Soprano’s fault, can it?

Hi Jerseyg1rl,
I understand those “tugs for home”, as I grew up an hour from the Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia and still miss seeing them. But, despite the snow-snow-snow this winter, I’m happy to be here in Canada. (Since 1975.)

Nice blog. Looks good. Have fun with Learning 2.0 — and keep on blogging!

I totally understand–actually I identify with your feelings, Jerseygirl. I still remember driving “downhill” from Preakness toward Paterson for an early shift at St. Joe’s Hospital, seeing this beautiful city on the hills–a moving sight then and in memory, too. Haven’t watched too many Soprano episodes–but did recognize the Passaic River in one very bleak scene. Oh, and my spouse thinks Tony lives in Wayne–a point of contention!
